Our role is to work with government agencies, their professional staffs, and elected representatives (at the city, county, state, and federal levels). We establish/maintain contact and strengthen university interaction with corporations, promoting problem-solving applied research, corporate-sponsored scholarships and donations (in-kind and equipment), "focus school" corporate designations, and informal/formal partnerships with individual corporations to address specific business/sales-support related issues, supporting a business development function. University Relations represents and promotes university agendas in associations, including professional groups, chambers of commerce, service clubs, and civic organizations, at the local, state, and national levels. In addition, the division promotes the university's mission and agenda to national and international foundations. University Relations also provides a liaison with Embry-Riddle campuses, colleges, departments, and the administration on new internal and external initiatives as they emerge across the university in conjunction and collaboration with the appropriate internal organizations, including the initial development and establishment of international projects, the research/business parks in Daytona Beach and Prescott, the Teaching Airport, the Center for Safety and Security Information, and all such internally or externally instigated intiatives until project sustainability has been achieved. University Relations looks for opportunities to create new functions and business opportunities within the university community to build capacity, capability, and funding opportunities.
