ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Degree Programs

The King Engineering and Technology Center is the home for both the Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments. It has recently been renovated to offer students even more computational power. The King Center is outfitted with completely furnished labs for the Digital and Linear Ciruits labs, as well as the EGR 101 Class. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department on the Prescott Campus offers undergraduate degree programs exclusively. This ensures that the focus of our faculty is primarily on teaching undergraduate students.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering focuses on the bridge between electrical engineers and computer scientists. Computer engineers have stronger programming and software skills than electrical engineers and stronger hardware backgrounds than computer scientists. The focus is primarily on embedded systems as applied to aerospace as well as many other applications. Since modern spacecraft and aircraft involve millions of lines of code, a computer engineer designs code and hardware to make the systems designed by electrical engineers and aerospace engineers operate correctly and efficiently.

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering focuses on the electrical systems in aircraft and spacecraft as well as other electrical applications. Typical areas of technical depth include digital and linear circuits, electromagnetics, control theory, avionics, communications, and power.
