Career Services
Embry-Riddle's College of Engineering Career Services encourages students to meet with us beginning in their freshman year to explore career options and develop a successful job search strategy. All Engineering students are then strongly encouraged to meet with their Program Manager regularly while they are at ERAU. Partnering with College of Engineering Academic Advising, your professors, and Career Services will help to ensure you get the most out of your educational experience.
The mission of Career Services is to equip students and alumni with the best job search tools and techniques available so that they excel in today's highly competitive employment market. Career Services is dedicated to bringing together potential employers and talented students to fill internship and full-time placement needs. The aerospace industry knows Embry-Riddle. Our most positive public relations tool has always been ERAU's interns and graduates performing beyond the expectations of their employers.
Career Services provides valuable expertise and resources in the areas of one-on-one career advisement, resume writing and critique services, interview tips and mock interviews, alumni networking, company information, regular full-time positions and internship opportunities. In addition, Career Services sponsors the EagleHire Network, a web-based resume referral system, and the Industry/Career Expo, which we host every fall. All students are encouraged to prepare for and attend the Fall Industry/Career Expo where they will learn about internship and regular opportunities. You'll find many alumni returning to campus to recruit the next generation of engineers.
Co-op Internship Opportunities
Beginning your freshman year, you should start building your resume and meeting with Career Services regarding Co-op/internship opportunities. Many organizations will consider students who have completed their freshman year. Recent co-operative education/internship opportunities have included: ACSS, Barnes Aerospace, Belcan, Boeing, Cessna, Continental, Eclipse Aviation, GE Aerospace, Honeywell, NASA, NASIC, Smiths Aerospace, The Insitu Group, United Space Alliance, and X Prize Foundation.
Careers
With strong academic performance and an engineering degree, you have countless options. Many of our students who have chosen ROTC as a career path will enter the armed forces to seek distinguished careers serving the nation. Others will choose graduate school while many will go directly into the aerospace workforce. Recent career placements have taken our new graduates to employers such as: Boeing, Rockwell-Collins, Honeywell, General Electric, Rolls Royce, Pratt and Whitney, Labinal, Lockheed-Martin, Northup-Grumman, Alliant Technology, General Dynamics, as well as many others. If you're pursuing an industry career, the job-seeking process should begin your junior year, or during your senior year.
