Academic Advising

Dedication to Student Success

Academic advising in the College of Engineering provides guidance to all students with the objective of empowering them to plan, develop and achieve their educational, career, and life goals. Faculty, staff, and career advisors, as well as student mentors, provide one-on-one interaction and timely intervention to help promote student success.

Faculty advisors help students plan ahead so these extra classes do not overwhelm their schedules. All Engineering students are assigned a Faculty Advisor upon arrival at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. As part of the UNIV 101 - College Success course, Faculty Advisors will meet several times weekly with students to acquaint them with resources and to support them in developing an appropriate degree program. Faculty Advisors have significant experience in both industry and academia and can assist the students with educational, career, and life decisions. Building a strong relationship with students and being a role model and mentor are important objectives for all Engineering Faculty Advisors.
