ResNet
Embry-Riddle provides a residential
network, ResNet, to students
living in residence halls
at the Prescott
campus. ResNet provides students
Internet access via a 10/100
Base-T Ethernet network.
Ethernet ports and cables
are provided
for each student living in
on-campus residence halls.
Once
registered on the ResNet, students
can surf the Internet, send
email, research project information,
and share files.
The University understands the importance of Internet
research and provides technical support for students who
have trouble connecting to the ResNet. Computer
Assistants are available to help troubleshoot network
issues and solve driver problems for students in the residence
halls.
The minimum requirements
for a PC to operate on the
ResNet are:
-
a 500MHz
processor, 128MB RAM
-
Windows
98SE or higher
-
10/100 Ethernet adapter.
However,
since
operating
systems and application
software
have
become more robust,
a more
powerful PC is recommended.
*Information Technology
recommends
a
PC with no less than
a 1GHz processor,
512MB
RAM,
Windows 2000 or XP,
and
a
10/100
Base-T
Ethernet adapter.
Current students can access the ResNet intranet site through Blackboard (ERAU Online)
