ERAU is honored to offer students a level 7 A320 FBS (fixed base simulator) which has been in operation since the summer of 2005. This simulator, which resembles the actual cockpit of a current A320 aircraft and has a brand new 150 degree wrap around visual system, is used by students in the AS 420 course. ERAU is proud to be the only accredited university in the country with this type of commercial aircraft simulator.
Cockpit Procedures Trainer The Cessna 172 and Piper PA-44 Cockpit Procedures Trainers (CPT) simulate the actual airplane cockpits and are used to develop proper checklist procedures for both normal and emergency situations prior to training them in the aircraft. The Embry-Riddle Prescott fleet has 3 Cessna and 3 Piper CPTs. PCATDs Personal Computer Based Aviation Training Devices (PCATDs) can simulate both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft. They are very effective and cost-efficient for introducing instrument flight procedures. The PCATDs are free for students to use when they are not being used for instructional purposes. The Embry-Riddle Prescott fleet has four PCATDs. |
