Aerospace Engineering Summer Career Exploration Program

Students in the Aerospace Engineering Program learn the basics of engineering in a hands-on environment.This is a 6 day intensive overview of Aerospace Engineering at the world-renowned Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Campus.

Program Overview

This camp is designed to demonstrate fundamental concepts of engineering in a fun hands-on environment. Each participant will learn the science of flight, the principles of aerospace design, how materials stress, strain, and break. Students will be introduced to a variety of fields relating to Aerospace Engineering through daily classes and labs.


Requirements and Costs

Students must be 15-18 years of age and have a strong background in science and math. The cost for the one-week program is $850 which includes meals, lodging, and all instructional materials.


As an Aerospace Engineering Program Participant you will receive:

  • Students in the Aerospace Engineering program get the chance to work with professional grade equipmentThe opportunity to build and test your own balsa wood glider.
  • A chance to put your knowledge to the test in the bridge design lab.

  • An exciting experience - exposing each camp participant to a taste of college life and opportunities to ask knowledgeable faculty and staff about the university and the aerospace industry

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Prescott, AZ Campus

Set among panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountains meeting sun-swept desert canyons, the Prescott, Arizona Campus is a fully accredited 4-year university. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the world’s largest university specializing in aviation and aerospace studies.


Housing, Meals, and Wheels

Your Aerospace Engineering adventure will be guided by our energetic staff of current Embry-Riddle Summer Student Coordinators. You will get a taste of university living in an air-conditioned campus residence housing and enjoy buffet meals in our on-campus Dining Hall. Transportation to various events will be provided by Embry-Riddle’s University vans during the entire program. You will be responsible for transportation To & From our Embry-Riddle Prescott Campus.

Program Package Information

All housing, meals, recreational and social activities, classroom materials, and local transportation for this 6-day Aerospace Engineering Program are included in the cost of the program.

Participants will be responsible for the cost of their own transportation To and From our Prescott Campus. Additionally, due to the limited staff and housing schedules, we are UNABLE to accommodate early arrivals to the camp and late departures at the end of the camp.

An Acceptance Package will be sent to you upon the completion of the program registration process. We recommend that you arrange arrival and departure times to coincide with the Check-In and Check-Out times posted in your Acceptance Package. This package also provides information on ground and flight information between Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and Prescott, as well as suggested hotels in the area.
