Prescott CampusCampus Overview
Students: Embry-Riddle's Prescott campus enrollment is approximately 1,650 students coming from 50 states and 27 countries. Student-to-Faculty Ratio: 15 to 1 Average Class Size: 23 students Campus: Situated amid Arizona's Bradshaw Mountain Range at an elevation of 5,350 feet, the 539-acre campus is located near Love Field Municipal Airport, the third busiest airport in Arizona.
Facilities: The campus offers state-of-the art facilities, including the new 20,000 sq. ft. Aviation Experimental Fabrication Building, King Engineering & Technology Center, new 13,000 sq. ft. Visitors Center, Tracy Doryland Wind Tunnel, Robertson Flight Simulation Center and more. Laboratories: The Wind Tunnel Laboratory contains research-quality subsonic and supersonic wind tunnels. These labs are used extensively by our undergraduate students to investigate the principles of aerodynamics. A modern supersonic wind tunnel and a shock tube allow investigations of flow with shock. A materials laboratory contains the latest equipment to study the properties of materials, including heat treatment. New construction: The Hazy Library and Learning Center, Loose Deuce Dining Hall and the Haas Interfaith Chapel opened for students in fall 2008. The Robertson Aviation Safety Center is currently under construction. A major renovation on the Student Union will be complete in time for fall 2009. Flight Line: The latest in flight simulation. Safe, modern fleet of aircraft including; Cessna 172’s, Cessna 182RG’s, Piper Seminoles, American Champion Decathalons and Cessna 150’s. Accreditations: The Professional Pilot curriculum (Aeronautical Science) is approved by the FAA to offer the following ratings/licenses:
Engineering programs have been approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The University is accredited to award degrees by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The bachelor degree curricula in aeronautical science is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Placement Statistics: Opportunities for work experience through co-ops and internships abound. Leading organizations through out the aviation and aerospace industries look to Embry-Riddle for qualified individuals to serve in a variety of positions. Within one year of graduation, 96% of Embry-Riddle graduates overall are either employed of have decided to continue their education. Embry-Riddle has alumni worldwide who are employed in the aviation and aerospace industry. Research: The Prescott campus hosts two electronic journals and the FAA Web site on Airport Wildlife Mitigation, as well as the Kalusa Collection, the largest collection of miniature scale model airplanes as described in the Guinness Book of Records.
