Transfer Student Application Checklist

(US citizen or permanent resident)

Transfer Students must submit:

  • Completed application which you can complete online or download here and submit it by mail. Call the Admissions office at 1-800-888-3728 or 928-777-6600 to request a paper application.
    • All official college transcripts; sent directly from each institution. An official evaluation of all previously completed college-level course work will be forwarded to you indicating the courses for which you will receive credit from Embry-Riddle.
    • High school transcript;
      If you have completed less than 30 credits at the college level, your official high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores may be requested.
    • $50 application fee;
      If you are applying online, you will be given the option to submit your application fee electronically. If you are submitting a paper application, include a check or money order made payable to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Please print your name and phone number on the check and submit it with your application.

    • Letters of recommendation;
      Letters from a teacher or employer can address areas of your background that are not always evident in your academic record. We suggest you submit two letters of recommendation. Forms are available for your convenience and you can download them here in PDF format. The forms are optional, written letters of recommendation submitted by your references are acceptable.

If you have military experience:

  • Include a copy of your DD-214 when available, as well as any military education transcripts.

Optional Information

  • Admission essay; While an essay is not required for admission, it may help us to assess your qualifications. You may include an essay when you submit your application package.
  • Interviews; An interview may be scheduled with an admissions counselor.  This interview is not required.  We can gain similar information from your letters of recommendation.  If you are unable to visit campus, contact the admissions office or click here (link to area events) for a list of events in your area.
  • Resume; Though not required, we appreciate your academic and extra-curricular activities to be summarized in a resume format to include accomplishments, activities, awards, honors, employment, etc.

Flight students must also submit a copy of their FAA medical certificate before they may be enrolled in flight classes. Although these medical certifications are not required for acceptance to the University, we highly recommend that you secure your medical certificate and submit it directly to the admissions office before you arrive on campus.
