First-time Non-Traditional Applicant Checklist
Non-traditional applicants must submit:
- Official High School Transcripts or GED scores if less than 30 credits have been completed at the collegiate level.
- $50 non-refundable application fee; If you are applying online, you will be given the option to submit
your application fee electronically. If you are submitting a paper
application, include a check or money order made payable to Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University. Please print your name and phone
number on the check and submit it with your application.
- Resume; Non-traditional students must submit a resume that includes a complete
history of academic and extra-curricular activities, accomplishments,
activities, awards, honors, employment, etc.
- Official transcripts; from other colleges if applicable.
- Letters of recommendation; Letters from a teacher or employer can address areas of your background that are not always evident in your academic record. We suggest you submit two letters of recommendation. Forms are available for your convenience and you can download them here in PDF format. The forms are optional, written letters of recommendation submitted by your references that are acceptable.
If you have military experience:
- Include an official copy of your DD-214 and military education
transcripts.
Optional Information
- Admission essay; While an essay is not required for admission, it may help us to assess your qualifications. You may include an essay when you submit your application package.
- Interviews; An interview may be scheduled with an admissions counselor. This interview is not required. We can gain similar information from your letters of recommendation. If you are unable to visit campus, contact the admissions office or click here (link to area events) for a list of events in your area.
Flight students must also submit a copy of their FAA
medical certificate before enrolling in flight classes. Although these
medical certifications are not required for acceptance to the University,
we highly recommend that you secure your medical certificate and submit
it directly to the admissions office before you arrive on campus.
