The Robertson Aviation Safety Center (RASC) is home to the Department of Safety Science and the Master of Science in Safety Science program. The center is named in honor of world-recognized safety expert, Harry Robertson. This facility houses classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, and faculty offices.
The Robertson Crash Lab offers students the opportunity to conduct hands-on field investigation of selected aircraft accident scenarios. The eight-acre facility includes eight field scenarios, a covered storage area, and a fifteen student briefing room. Current inventory at the lab includes a variety of actual accident aircraft, including a Cessna 401A, a Piper PA-28-161, a Varga Kachina plane, a Cessna 140, and a Hughes 300 helicopter.
