Minor Courses of Study Directed by the Department
Minor in Asian Studies The Asian Studies Minor introduces a student to the cultures, histories, and languages of Asian countries, as well as cross-cultural comparisons between the United States and Asia. Any student can earn the minor by successfully completing at least 15 related credit hours, with six upper-level credits in Asian Studies earned at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. These 15 credits can be earned from the following options:
Option 1: Take courses from the list of Asian Studies Courses Option 2: Transfer up to nine credits in an Asian language or from Asian studies courses or study abroad, and earn at least six upper-level Asian Studies credits from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Minor in Humanities
ERAU offers a minor in Humanities. This minor is outlined in the ERAU catalog and consists of 18 hours selected from four areas identified below.
HU 140-146 Series Six credits must be selected from the HU 140-146 series:
HU 140: Western Humanities I: Antiquity and the Middle Ages HU 141: Western Humanities II: Renaissance to Postmodern HU 142: Studies in Literature HU 143: Studies in Rhetorical Theory HU 144: Studies in Art HU 145: Themes in the Humanities HU 146: Music Appreciation and Criticism
In addition, 12 credits must be selected from the following three areas; at least one course must be completed from each area:

Speculative HU 330: Values and Ethics HU 335: Technology and Modern Civilization HU 341: World Philosophy

Designer Minors
In addition to the Humanities minor outlined in the ERAU catalog, students have the option of creating a "designer minor, " with the approval of the Department Chair of the Humanities and Communications Department or Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. A student creates a designer minor based on his/her interests in Humanities.
A designer minor consists of 15 or more credit hours in related courses that adhere to the following guidelines:
A minimum 2.00 GPA must be maintained within the designer minor. At least 6 credit hours must be completed in residence. At least 6 credit hours must be completed for upper division credit (300-400-level classes). At least 6 credit hours must be completed that are not specifically required in the student’s degree program. No course substitutions are allowed in the designer minor. No course may be shared between minors.
The title of the minor must be selected from the following approved list:
