Daytona Beach Campus - College of Arts & Sciences Department of Physical Sciences Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Physical Sciences is derived from the university's mission ". . . to provide a comprehensive education to prepare graduates for productive careers and responsible citizenship with special emphasis on the needs of aviation, aerospace, engineering and related fields. . .," and to ". . . engage in research, consulting services, and related activities that address the needs of the aviation, aerospace, and related industries ." The Physical Sciences Department provides an educational foundation in the basic sciences for all ERAU students and fosters programs to develop well-rounded, highly skilled professionals in the fields of space sciences and space systems engineering. Our applied research programs exercise state-of-the-art technology and analytical methods to extend the knowledge of the physical universe and to discover ways by which this knowledge can be used to enrich humanity. Our service programs provide scientific expertise to people, institutions and organizations who strive to improve the economic, cultural and social well-being of our citizens. |
