Daytona Beach Campus - Electrical and Systems Engineering Department

Our Mission

The mission of the Electrical Engineering degree program is to provide our students with the best possible experience and education.  While in our program, students will:

  • Learn by doing through exciting hands-on laboratory experiments at all levels, in topics ranging from basic physics, analog and digital circuits, to the complex high-frequency devices used in modern systems.
  • Put their education to use, practicing engineering by participating in academic clubs.  Current projects include IEEE Autonomous Robotics, Autonomous Unmanned Vehicles (ground and aerial), and Hybrid Vehicles.
  • Be engaged in their academic work by top education-oriented faculty, who are available to meet their needs with accessible office-hours and small class sizes.
  • Become members of the engineering community through the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the professional society for electrical engineers.

It is our goal to produce graduates who have a solid background in the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.  Our graduates will be able to plan, analyze, and design electrical systems, and will practice engineering ethically and within the context of our society.  Capable of tackling large projects on multidisciplinary teams, Electrical Engineers will contribute to society and to their professional organizations.
