Daytona Beach Campus - College of Engineering Mechanical Engineering Department Educational ObjectivesEducational Objectives of the Mechanical Engineering Program are to produce engineers who:1. are prepared to be immediately productive as well-rounded mechanical engineers in the aerospace and related fields 2. understand the importance of life-long learning and pursue professional development including advanced degrees and professional registration 3. are able to systematically apply the fundamental principles of science and mathematics to solve engineering problems 4. have exceptional backgrounds in engineering design that meet system, component or process requirements and complies with health and environmental requirements 5. are effective at both oral and written communications 6. work effectively within a team, in both supporting and leadership roles 7. are able to apply their knowledge to real world multidisciplinary challenges facing society 8. are able to apply the latest tools and technology to engineering problems 9. understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, political, social and ethical context.
