Our Mission

The mission of the Mechanical Engineering degree program is to produce graduates who:

Have a solid background in the basic mechanical engineering subjects.
Can plan, analyze, design, and schedule mechanical systems, including those in high-performance vehicles, energy and power, and robotics.
Contribute to society and the mechanical engineering profession through professional societies as well as acting in an ethical manner.
Can work in diverse team environments with knowledge of the breadth of engineering topics.
Demonstrate knowledge of the mechanical design process.

The curriculum is designed to accomplish the objectives with a base of engineering, math, and sciences that includes probability, statistics, or numerical methods; engineering economics; advanced mathematics; electrical engineering; and engineering design. The culmination of the program is a two-semester design project that prepares the students for working in a team environment on projects involving mechanical engineering.
