Aircraft Dispatcher Training Program

Dispatching

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct an Aircraft Dispatcher Training Course. This program is an integral part of the Aeronautical Science Degree normally completed over a four-year time span. ERAU is NOT currently offering the more traditional dispatcher training programs typically completed within 6 weeks.

The Aircraft Dispatcher Training Program consists of the following Aeronautical Science and Applied Aviation Science courses. No course substitutions or testing out is allowed.

  • AS-221/230/232 Instrument Pilot Operations
  • AS-321/270/272 Commercial Pilot OPerations
  • WX-201 Survey of Meteorology
  • WX-301 Aviation Weather
  • AS-310 Aircraft Performance
  • AT-300 Air Traffic Management I 
  • AS-410 Airline Dispatch Operations

Upon satisfactory completion of this program, students are issued a completion statement authorizing them to take the practical examination. This statement is valid for 90 days.

FAR Part 65 governs the Aircraft Dispatcher Certification process. Applicants for certification must satisfactorily complete both a written and a practical examination. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to take either exam. The actual certificate is issued when the applicant reaches 23 years of age.
