Aeronautical ScienceThe Aeronautical Science degree program blends flight training with rigorous academic study in a unique manner that provides a strong career foundation for leaders in the aviation industry including airlines, corporate and commercial aviation, or the military. The Aeronautical Science degree program can be oriented toward an Airline Pilot area of specialization, Military Pilot area of specialization or Commercial Pilot area of specialization. Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science The Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science may be attained in eight semesters. To earn the degree, successful completion of a minimum of 120 credit hours is required. The purpose of the Aeronautical Science degree program is to prepare the graduate for a productive career as a professional pilot and instill responsible citizenship in support of the aviation and aerospace industries. Upon completion of the curriculum, the student will possess a minimum of an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine instrument rating. Advanced flight training, up to and including entry-level airline training, is provided. Bachelor of Science in AeronauticsThe Aeronautics degree was conceived and developed specifically for people who work or have worked in aviation careers. The curriculum was designed to build upon the aviation knowledge and skill students bring with them from their training and experience. The combination of a student's aviation learning, the required and elective courses in Aeronautical Science, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Communication, Humanities, Social Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, along with professional development prepare graduates for career growth and increased responsibility. Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance ScienceEvery commercial, private, or military aircraft requires the careful attention of professional aviation maintenance specialists. Without their commitment to quality and safety, the air traffic system would cease to function. If you choose to earn Embry-Riddle's degree in Aviataion Maintenance Science, your expertise will be sought after by the aviation and aerospace industry. Included in the program's 120 credit hours is preparation for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant license. Master of Science in AeronauticsThe Master of Science in Aeronautics degree (formerly called MAS or Master of Aeronautical Science degree) is designed to provide the aviation/aerospace professional with a rigorous academic approach to a generalistic-oriented degree. It provides an opportunity for flight crew members, air traffic control personnel, flight operations specialists, industry management and technical representatives, and aviation educators to enhance their knowledge and pursue additional career opportunities. Entry into the MSA program requires possession of an undergraduate foundation in college-level mathematics, introduction to computers, economics, behavioral science, and aviation legislation. Flight qualifications are not required for this degree. This degree is under the administrative control of the Applied Aviation Science Department. |
