Embry-Riddle and Food Brings Hope

Not only are we passionate about aviation and aerospace, we're also passionate about helping others in our community. Food Brings Hope is an organization based in Daytona Beach, Florida that focuses on breaking the poverty cycle for homeless and disadvantaged children enrolled in Volusia County schools. Food Brings Hope achieves collaborative solutions for families with children that experience hunger due to homelessness, poverty or unfamiliarity with community resources that provide nutritional assistance.

Did You Know?

There are approximately 2,000 homeless children in Volusia County. These children are provided state funding for breakfast and lunch during the school day, but weekends, dinners and summer meals are a challenge. They often go without food because it is a luxury they can't afford. Eating should never be a luxury. That's where we can help.

The $7 Sacrifice

For just $7, Food Brings Hope can purchase 40 pounds of dry food and six pounds of meat that goes towards feeding children. One small sacrifice can bring so much to the children of our community. That's the price of a few lattes, a lunch on the go or perhaps a matinee movie ticket. We're asking you to join us and donate at least $7 to help end hunger for school-age children throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.

Employees can choose a one-time or ongoing payroll deduction or donate with a credit card online.

Students, friends and families can also choose to donate with a credit card online. Collectively, we can work to stop hunger here in our own backyard.

100% of all donations go toward feeding children through Food Brings Hope services. There are no administrative fees.

Our Goal

Our goal is to collectively donate $25,000 for Food Brings Hope by April 12, 2013. To date, ERAU friends and family have committed $6,554. We'll post our progress here weekly.
