Embry-Riddle Worldfest II: Passport to International Cultures and Food

Daytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 24, 2009 -- Embry-Riddle will make it easy to become a globetrotter at its Worldfest II – International Day 2009 on Saturday, March 7.

At this year’s event, attendees can sample free food as they “travel” around the world by stopping at national and regional booths. Entertainment, education, and cultural exchange will all be part of the mix, with henna tattoos offered at the Indian booth.

Sponsored by Embry-Riddle’s Department of International Student Services (ISS), Worldfest II – International Day 2009 runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the ICI Center at Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

As part of the festivities, a Silent Auction will be held in the lobby of the ICI Center. Donated international items, aviation memorabilia, and many other objects will be available for bidding until 4:30 p.m. The auction proceeds will benefit the International Students Emergency Scholarship Grant Program.

In addition, the entries submitted for the 2008 International Student Services Photo Contest will be showcased on a large screen, with images of landscapes, wildlife, and people illustrating the theme “The Beauty that Surrounds Us.” The winners of the contest will receive their awards at the event.

All of the Worldfest II – International Day 2009 activities are free of charge except the Silent Auction. For more information, contact International Student Services at (386) 226-6114.
