National Security and Intelligence Meeting to Be Held at Embry-Riddle

Prescott, Ariz., Nov. 3, 2009 -- A panel of some of the nation’s leading experts in security and intelligence will discuss “Challenges for Homeland Security in the 21st Century” at a daylong meeting Nov. 5 at Embry-Riddle’s campus in Prescott, Ariz. The gathering is the fifth annual National Security and Intelligence Symposium, which is organized and hosted by the Global Security and Intelligence Studies (GSIS) Department at the campus.

The experts will provide commentary on national and Arizona state border security issues, followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience. Representatives from the American Society for Industrial Security, Federal Homeland Security Department, FBI, Sky Harbor Airport, Arizona Public Service, Arizona Counterterrorism Center, Phoenix School of Law, the FBI’s Directorate of Intelligence /Domestic Intelligence Information Center will join faculty members from Embry-Riddle’s GSIS program as panelists.

Embry-Riddle’s GSIS program develops security and intelligence professionals with broad knowledge in security, intelligence, emergency management, and global interrelationships in politics, economics, social thought and social change, culture, science and technology, military affairs, public health, and cyber security.
