“We’re pleased to welcome Julie to our team,” said Daniel E. Montplaisir, Embry-Riddle Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Julie is well known and respected in this community and she will work closely with donors in the community interested in supporting our students. Additionally, Julie will focus on building private support for the Athletics Department by expanding relationships with donors, sponsors, and the Eagle Athletic Association Board.” Rand is a veteran fund-raiser with 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and educational arenas. Most recently she was Director of Leadership Giving for Daytona State College Foundation, and prior to that Rand held top-level positions with the News-Journal Center for 10 years, including serving as Executive Director of the $30 million performing and visual arts facility in Daytona Beach. In these roles she implemented special events and led fund-raising initiatives, working with major foundations, government officials, community leaders, and the general public. Rand is active in the community as a boardmember with the Halifax Health Community Foundation and the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens. In addition, she is a member of the Checkered Flag Committee and the Civic League of the Halifax Area.
