Embry-Riddle Appoints Jeff Davis as Aviation Development Director

Jeff DavisDaytona Beach, Fla., Dec. 12, 2007 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has appointed fund-raising professional Jeffrey Davis as director of development for aviation at the university.

As director of development, Davis will work with Tim Brady, dean of the College of Aviation at the Daytona Beach campus, to strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and friends in support of aviation education at the university.

Embry-Riddle’s aviation-related degree programs are aeronautical science, aeronautical systems maintenance, aeronautics, aerospace electronics, aerospace studies, air traffic management, applied meteorology, aviation maintenance science, homeland security, and safety science.

“We are thrilled to have Jeff Davis joining the Embry-Riddle team,” said Bernadine Douglas, assistant vice president for institutional advancement. “With his fund-raising expertise, coupled with the commitment of the college faculty and staff and the passion of alumni and friends such as James Hagedorn, class of 1979 and CEO of Scotts Miracle-Gro, we are poised for great things to occur in the College of Aviation and for philanthropy to play a role like never before.”

Davis joins the university from the University of Central Florida, where he was the development director responsible for soliciting major donations for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Prior to that, he was director of development at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Fla., where he led a team in creating an $11-million capital fund-raising campaign.

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Indiana University. He is also a chartered financial consultant, with certification from the American College.
