Dassault Falcon Jet CEO John Rosanvallon to Speak at Embry-Riddle Commencement
The day before commencement, on Friday, Dec. 15, all four Embry-Riddle colleges will participate in a joint hooding ceremony for master’s candidates at 5:30 p.m. in Embry-Riddle’s Miller Instructional Center auditorium. The College of Business will hold its reception for undergraduate and graduate students the same day from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Spruance Hall atrium. The Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Aviation, and Engineering will hold a joint reception for their master’s candidates in the College of Aviation atrium immediately after the hooding ceremony. Commencement speaker John Rosanvallon, a native of France, was recruited by Dassault Aviation in 1975 to coordinate the company’s Falcon business jet programs between its Paris headquarters and its U.S. subsidiary, then called Falcon Jet Corp. As he rose in the ranks he served as assistant to the president; vice president of finance; vice president of marketing; and senior vice president of sales and marketing. Rosanvallon was also executive vice president of Sogitec, a Dassault subsidiary. Currently he is president and chief executive officer of Dassault Falcon Jet Corp., sits on the company’s board of directors, and is executive vice president of Dassault Aviation’s civil aviation division. In 2006 Rosanvallon won Aviation Week & Space Technology’s Laureate Award for Business/General Aviation. He is also a recipient of the National Order of Merit and the French Legion of Honor, both awarded by the president of France. He is member of numerous French-American and aerospace organizations and foundations. Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. (DFJ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, which builds fighter aircraft (Mirage, Rafale) and business jets. DFJ is responsible for selling and supporting Falcon business jets throughout North America, South America, and the Pacific Rim nations of Asia, including China, and is headquartered at Teterboro Airport, N.J. Since the rollout of the first Falcon 20 in 1963, over 1,500 Falcon jets have been delivered to more than 65 nations worldwide. The family of Falcon jets currently in production includes three tri-jets – the Falcon 50EX, 900C, and 900EX -- as well as the twin-engine Falcon 2000 and 2000EX and the new tri-jet 7X.
