Embry-Riddle Opens New Los Angeles Metro Center

Daytona Beach, Fla., Jan. 9, 2006 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is opening its new Los Angeles Metro Center in the Airport Plaza complex adjacent to the Long Beach airport.

The center, located about a mile from the old Long Beach location, is a brand-new, expanded facility, reflecting Embry-Riddle’s continuing commitment to the Los Angeles basin’s aviation and aerospace industry.

Embry-Riddle first opened its March Air Force Base Center in Long Beach more than a decade ago and has grown in this location to be one of the largest of the university’s 136 Extended Campus centers worldwide.

“The university’s continuing presence in Long Beach reflects the confidence Embry-Riddle has in the future of the aviation and aerospace business in the region,” said Darcy Vernier, Los Angeles Metro Center director of operations.

The Los Angeles Metro Center offers Associate, Bachelor, and Master degrees in a number of areas, including Professional Aeronautics, Technical Management, and Aircraft Maintenance Management. Also offered is the Master of Science in Technical Management, a corporate “lock-step” program designed for companies who wish to provide their technically oriented employees with the management skills needed to be project and division managers. Terms begin in January and March 2006.

Prospective students and faculty may contact the center for additional information:
