Embry-Riddle Names Dr. Martha Hollis Director of Distance Learning

Daytona Beach, Fla., Jan. 24, 2006 -- Higher education professional Dr. Martha Hollis is the new Director of Distance Learning at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Hollis joined the Extended Campus team on Jan. 16 following several years with Capella University, where she held the positions of Program Director, Faculty Director, Quantitative Methods and Research Chair, and Core Professor in the School of Business.

“Dr. Hollis has an extensive background in online and traditional collegiate education,” said Marty Smith, Chancellor of Embry-Riddle’s Extended Campus. “Her varied experiences will serve her well as we continue to expand our distance learning component.”

Hollis has taught at the University of San Francisco, the University of Central Florida, the University of California, Irvine, and Arizona State University. She has a Ph.D. in Decision and Information Sciences from Arizona State University, a master degree in Operational and Systems Analysis from George Washington University, a master degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University, and a bachelor degree in Business Administration from William and Mary College.

Her responsibilities have included development and delivery of online instruction and platform migration for MBA, M.S., and Ph.D. programs; faculty online training, assessment, and best practices; accreditation self-study team; and liaison with product management, enrollment, academic services, financial forecasting, academic quality control, and competency assessment areas for various degree programs. She has also been published in many academic journals.
