Phone: 386-226-7055 Embry-Riddle's Tampa Center Expands to New LocationDaytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 28, 2005 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Tampa Center is expanding to meet the growing needs of the area’s nontraditional students by opening a new site on Westshore Boulevard in Tampa. Embry-Riddle started offering classes in Tampa 18 years ago at MacDill Air Force Base. “We selected a location close to Tampa International Airport to accommodate the aviation community while allowing for additional growth,” says Center Director Margie Grewing. Many of the students who earn degrees at Embry-Riddle centers are seeking career advancement in the business and aviation communities. Embry-Riddle students come from many employers, including airlines, airports, the military, Raytheon, Honeywell, and Tech Data. To meet the educational needs of working adults, course schedules are flexible, with most classes meeting just one evening each week. The faculty members are working professionals who specialize in teaching adults. The center is state-approved for veteran’s training. Financial aid and tuition assistance are available to qualifying students. The Tampa Center offers degrees in Technical Management, Aircraft Maintenance, and Professional Aeronautics. Also available are the Master of Aeronautical Science, the Master of Science in Management (both degrees offer various specializations), and the Master of Science in Technical Management degrees. Certificate programs are available in Aircraft Maintenance and Safety at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Classes at the new site begin in March 2005.
