Embry-Riddle Hosts Annual Law & Insurance Symposium

Daytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 15, 2005 -- Top aviation law and insurance leaders gathered in January in Orlando, Fla., for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s 16th annual Aviation Law & Insurance Symposium.

The Jan. 20-21 event was hosted by Embry-Riddle’s School of Corporate Training and Professional Development.

The symposium featured sessions on accident investigation, litigation, and recent developments in aviation law and insurance. Special keynote luncheon speakers were Kenneth Feinberg of the Feinberg Group and Ricky Mack of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Feinberg is the special master of the federal September 11 Victim Compensation Fund, appointed by the attorney general of the United States, and Mack is a regional director of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Participants had high praise for the symposium.

“This symposium was superior in both the precision of the subject matter and the breadth of experience of those in attendance,” said attorney Kevin Fitzpatrick Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.

“This symposium is a must for aviation attorneys, officials, and businesses – convenient, informative, and interesting,” said Tom Pennekamp of Grossman & Roth in Miami.

“The Embry-Riddle program has become a ‘must attend’ occasion,” said Mark Dombroff of Dombroff & Gilmore in McLean, Va. “It combines both educational and social elements into what has evolved into one of the best aviation programs held annually.”

Embry-Riddle presents the Aviation Law & Insurance Symposium on an annual basis and has already scheduled dates for January 2006. For more information, contact the School of Corporate Training and Professional Development at 866-574-9125 or janet.dunn@erau.edu.
