Embry-Riddle Hosts Aviation Law and Insurance Symposium

Daytona Beach, Fla., Dec. 15, 2005 -- Top aviation law and insurance leaders will gather next month in Orlando, Fla., for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s 17th annual Aviation Law and Insurance Symposium.

The Jan. 19-20 event at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando will be hosted by Embry-Riddle’s School of Corporate Training and Professional Development.

The symposium will feature sessions on aviation and terrorism, handling military aviation accidents, the growing Asian market, the federal tort claims act, and post-9/11 air traffic control. The keynote luncheon speaker on Thursday, Jan. 19, will be Russell Mirabile, senior vice president and director of claims for United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) in New York.

Participants had high praise for last year’s symposium.

“This symposium was superior in both the precision of the subject matter and the breadth of experience of those in attendance,” said attorney Kevin Fitzpatrick Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.

“This symposium is a must for aviation attorneys, officials, and businesses – convenient, informative, and interesting,” said Tom Pennekamp of Grossman & Roth in Miami.

“The Embry-Riddle program has become a ‘must attend’ occasion,” said Mark Dombroff of Dombroff & Gilmore in McLean, Va. “It combines both educational and social elements into what has evolved into one of the best aviation programs held annually.”
