Embry-Riddle, JetBlue Airways Sign Educational Collaboration AgreementDaytona Beach, Fla., June 16, 2005 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and JetBlue Airways have signed an educational collaboration agreement that encourages cooperation between the two organizations, including training programs for JetBlue crewmembers. The agreement was signed June 6 in Orlando following the dedication of JetBlue University Training Center at Orlando International Airport. JetBlue's new training center includes 107,000 square feet of classroom, office, and flight simulator space. The center is the latest indication of the airline's dramatic expansion. JetBlue hires six new employees each day and adds a new airplane every 10 days. The airline is incorporating an aggressive education and training program to keep pace with the growth. Under the agreement with Embry-Riddle, the university will provide a Train-the-Trainer program for JetBlue's A320 and E190 simulator trainers. JetBlue will provide cooperative internships for Embry-Riddle students. "We are very pleased to affiliate with JetBlue. Our long history associated with aviation combined with the dynamic, state-of-the-art JetBlue organization is an exciting partnership," said David Hosley, dean of Embry-Riddle's School of Corporate Training and Professional Development.
