Embry-Riddle Names Jacqueline Luedtke Dean of the College of Aviation at Prescott, Ariz., Campus

Prescott, Ariz., Jan. 20, 2004 -- Dr. Jacqueline Luedtke has been named dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott, Ariz., campus.

Luedtke joined the university in June 2003 and has served as the interim dean of the College of Aviation.

Prior to joining Embry-Riddle, Luedtke was an associate professor in the Department of Aviation at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H. Earlier, Luedtke was director of operations and taught at the Aviation Department at Utah State University, was assistant professor at the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and was with the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University.

Luedtke holds a doctorate in Higher Education with an emphasis in Aviation/Aerospace Education from Oklahoma State University. She also holds an M.B.A. from Wichita State University and a bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Wichita State University.

As dean of the College of Aviation, Luedtke is responsible for the departments of Aeronautical Science, Applied Meteorology, Safety Science, and the Flight Training Center. The College of Aviation enrolls more than 750 students and has 24 full-time faculty. Embry-Riddle's Aeronautical Science degree has the largest enrollment of undergraduates on the campus.

"Dr. Luedtke brings a wealth of experience and has proven to be a great addition to the Embry-Riddle team," Chancellor Dan Carrell said.

Luedtke's research interests include aviation management, effects of marketing in aviation, retention issues, service quality in aviation, and women's contributions to aviation. Her professional affiliations include the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Ninety-Nines, the University Aviation Association, the Wichita Aeronautical Historical Association, and Women in Aviation International.

Luedtke's FAA certifications include Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument, Commercial Pilot, Airplane Single- and Multi-Engine Land with Instrument, and Advanced - Instrument Ground Instructor.
