Fairleigh Dickinson Executive Named Vice President of Marketing and Enrollment Management at Embry-Riddle
Daytona Beach, Fla., Jan. 20, 2004 -- Gary Hamme, vice president of Enrollment Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, will join Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in February as vice president of Marketing and Enrollment Management.
Hamme will lead the strategic enrollment effort for Embry-Riddle's residential campuses in Daytona Beach and Prescott, Ariz. His responsibilities will include attracting and retaining highly qualified students, increasing undergraduate and graduate enrollments, sharing in the development and approval of budgets for recruitment activities, overseeing career placement services for graduates, and marketing the benefits of Embry-Riddle to all constituents. Hamme will report to Embry-Riddle President George Ebbs. "Gary will bring his substantial academic background to enhancing our marketing, career placement, and enrollment management functions in support of the university's academic programs," said Dr. Ebbs. "We are thrilled to have someone of Gary Hamme's talent and proven ability join our management team." At Fairleigh Dickinson, Hamme was a member of the President's Senior Management and Executive Vice President's Cabinets, and was responsible for managing a professional and administrative staff of 100 employees. He is credited with increasing the number of Fairleigh Dickinson full-time freshmen applications for the Teaneck and Madison, N.J., campuses from 4,100 in Fall 2000 to 5,300 in Fall 2003. The average Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score increased 20 points over the same three-year period. Hamme said he is excited to be joining a university known for the caliber of its students, faculty, and staff and plans to use university personnel to bolster enrollment. "My goal is to focus our collective efforts on attracting quality students to the university by conveying to prospects the kind of superior academic and social experience they can expect at Embry-Riddle," Hamme said. "I am delighted to be involved in this challenging process." Before joining Fairleigh Dickinson, Hamme held numerous executive positions at Drexel University in Philadelphia, including dean of Enrollment and Career Management and dean of the Career Management Center. Earlier professional experience includes Price Waterhouse in Morristown, N.J., and Philadelphia, Pa., where he was director of Human Resources. Hamme has an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, and Industrial Relations, both from Drexel University. Embry-Riddle, the world's largest, fully accredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace, meets the needs of students and industry through its educational, training, research, and consulting activities. Embry-Riddle educates more than 28,000 students annually through the master level at residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Prescott, Ariz., at more than 130 centers in the United States and Europe, and through distance learning. |
