Embry-Riddle Extended Campus Partners With Northcentral University to Offer Doctoral Degrees

Daytona Beach, Fla., Oct. 27, 2003 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Extended Campus has signed an agreement with Northcentral University (NCU), an accredited online distance-learning institution, that allows Embry-Riddle Extended Campus students to obtain a doctoral degree.

"In today's competitive workplace, there is a growing need for professionals with doctoral degrees, and we are pleased to offer Embry Riddle's graduates the opportunity to strive for the next level of educational and professional success, the Ph.D.," said Dr. Robert Myers, chancellor of Embry-Riddle Extended Campus.

Northcentral University provides 100 percent online distance learning. The university offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in Psychology and Business Administration. NCU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

"This collaboration between our schools provides seamless access to graduate doctoral educational resources for Embry-Riddle graduates," said Dr. Donald Hecht, president of NCU.

In addition, Embry-Riddle's Chancellor Myers said any student at NCU who wishes to pursue a Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis on the aviation or aerospace industry must complete master's level coursework through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Extended Campus.

"This relationship also provides an immediate means for our faculty to engage in scholarly activities through doctoral dissertations," said Dr. Myers.
