Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 5, 2002 -- The Fort Knox Center of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has added a new degree program to its offerings in Louisville, Ky., the Master of Aeronautical Science (MAS) degree. The new program will begin in January 2003.

"Many aviation technical professionals employed in the aviation and aerospace industry in this area will find Embry-Riddle's MAS program just what they need to refine their skills," says Tom King, director of the Fort Knox Center.

The MAS degree program teaches the aviation professional how to excel in applying modern management concepts, methods, and tools to the challenges of aviation and business.

The program consists of 12 classes: four core classes, four classes selected from one of seven specializations, three electives, and a graduate research project.

The degree specializations are Aeronautics, Aviation Education, Aviation Management, Aviation Operations, Aviation Safety, Human Factors in Aviation, and Space Studies. The classes required in each specialization are different and vary from Advanced Aerodynamics to Integrated Logistic Support in Aviation.
