Embry-Riddle and Air Routing to Develop Corporate-Aviation Scheduler Courses

Daytona Beach, Fla., Dec. 13, 2001 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Air Routing International Corp. recently signed an agreement under which they will jointly create courses for the new Scheduler's Professional Development Program (SPDP) offered by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).

Each course will be developed by Air Routing and will be offered to students online through Embry-Riddle's Division of Continuing Education. The first three courses will cover aircraft capacity use, international scheduling, and scheduling methods, with the initial course expected to launch in 2002. The new alliance of Embry-Riddle and Air Routing may result in the development of additional courses that will lead to an SPDP certificate.

The new scheduler program will be modeled after the Corporate Aviation Management Certificate Program (CAMCP) that enhances the skills and qualifications of chief pilots, line pilots, schedulers, dispatchers, flight attendants, and flight-operations and maintenance personnel. The new program will further the education of those who wish to pursue scheduler positions in corporate flight departments. Designed for busy professionals, it is offered through the Internet for maximum flexibility. Like the CAMCP, the scheduler program will meet the requirements for approval by the NBAA.

For more information, contact Roy Rosales, Embry-Riddle's CAMCP manager, at 386.226.6187 or rosalero@erau.edu or visit www.ec.erau.edu/dce/camp.
