Alumni Chapter Initiates Survey for Embry-Riddle License Plate

ERAU License PlateDaytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 19, 2001 -- To help celebrate the 75th anniversary of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Central Florida Alumni Chapter is spearheading a campaign to establish a Florida license plate honoring the school.

State law requires that each applicant for a specialty license plate compile survey results from 15,000 respondents to demonstrate support for the license plate. All members of the general public who own Florida-registered vehicles may participate in the survey, which takes less than a minute and can be done online at http://www.erautag.com or by calling 1-800-727-ERAU. Those who own multiple vehicles may complete the survey separately for each vehicle.

According to Joe Radosky, vice president of the Central Florida Alumni Chapter, "For the license plate to become a reality, we'll need every alumnus, student, and friend we know to show their support for the license plate by completing the survey for each Florida-registered vehicle they own."

If the license plate is approved by the State of Florida, it should be available in 2004 for purchase by all Florida-registered vehicle owners. Survey respondents are not obligated to purchase a license plate. The money generated from tag sales will support alumni programs and services and student scholarships.

Embry-Riddle's Student Alumni Association and Student Government Association are assisting the Central Florida Alumni Chapter in the license-plate campaign.
