Embry-Riddle Hosts Activity Center for Kids at Wings & Waves Air Show
Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 1, 2001 -- A free Eagles
Activity Center for Kids will operate from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10 and 11, during the
air and sea show Wings & Waves: Celebrating Embry-Riddle's
75th Anniversary.TM
Sponsored by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the
Activity Center will be set up in the Ocean Avenue parking
lot between the Adam's Mark Resort and McDonald's. Children
12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees
are invited to visit the exhibits to fill out a scavenger-hunt
card for a free McDonald's ice cream. Embry-Riddle will
also give away prizes.

Embry-Riddle will present Wings & Waves: Celebrating
Embry-Riddle's 75th Anniversary,TM
a spectacular air show over the ocean at Daytona Beach,
in celebration of its 75th anniversary. The family-oriented
air and sea show, which is free and open to the public,
will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday,
Nov. 10 and 11, over the Atlantic Ocean, with the beachside
Adam's Mark Resort as show center.
The air show will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds,
wing walkers, sky divers, and popular aerobatic fliers,
such as Sean D. Tucker in his Oracle Challenger, one of
the hottest air show acts in the world. The "waves" part
of the show will include exciting speedboat racing and
search-and-rescue demonstrations using helicopters and
boats.
Spectators may sample music, food, concessions, and exhibits.
Two beach runs, a 7.5K Riddle Run and a 0.75K Fun Run
sponsored by the Ocean Deck Restaurant, are planned to
tie in with the 75th anniversary theme.
A concert by the Beach Boys will be held at 8:30 p.m.,
Saturday, Nov. 10, at the oceanfront Daytona Beach Bandshell.
Admission is free and open to the public.
