Women in Aviation, International Moves to Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach Campus

Perry Fulkerson and Peggy Baty ChabrianDaytona Beach, Fla., Aug. 9, 2000 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is pleased to announce that Women in Aviation, International (WAI) is relocating its headquarters to Daytona Beach, Fla., effective Sept. 1. The move became necessary as WAI continues to build its membership and its space needs outgrew its present location in West Alexandria, Ohio.

"The first International Women in Aviation Conference was hosted by Embry-Riddle at their Prescott, Ariz., campus in 1990," said WAI President Peggy Baty Chabrian. "We have had continuous support from the university as we expanded from an annual conference to an independent professional aviation organization in 1995. We appreciate Embry-Riddle's offer to locate our headquarters on their Daytona Beach campus. We see the move as a positive one for WAI and Embry-Riddle."

"We are delighted to have Women in Aviation, International on campus. We support WAI's mission and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship," said Thomas J. Connolly, interim chancellor of the Daytona Beach Campus and a charter member of Women in Aviation, International.

Women in Aviation, International, a non-profit organization with more than 5,000 members, encourages the advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests.
