Embry-Riddle Appoints James W. Fogal Director of Gift Planning
Daytona Beach, Fla., Aug. 7, 2000 -- Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has named James W. Fogal to the new position of director of gift planning.
Previously, Fogal was a planned giving associate for the Christian Appalachian Project in Lancaster, Ky.
In his new position, Fogal will work under the direction of Perry Fulkerson, Embry-Riddle's vice president of institutional advancement, and Harry Jennings, Embry-Riddle's senior director of development, to increase private support for the university's Daytona Beach, Prescott, and Extended campuses. He will primarily assist Embry-Riddle alumni and friends in making non-cash contributions to include gifts of appreciated securities, life insurance, retirement plan assets, charitable trusts, gift annuities, and other estate donations.
Fogal has more than six years of experience in higher education development. Before joining Embry-Riddle, he served as a development assistant with Asbury College and coordinated annual fund activities including phone-a-thons, direct mail campaigns, corporate matching gifts programs, and donor giving societies.
He is active in several professional organizations, such as the Central Florida Planned Giving Council, National Society of Fundraising Executives, and the Volusia County Trust and Estate Council, and has been honored twice with the Kentucky Colonel award for community service and leadership.
Fogal is completing an M.A. in philanthropic studies from Indiana University and holds a B.A. in ancient languages from Asbury College.
