Embry-Riddle Professor Ron Madler Recognized by Society of Automotive Engineers
Prescott, Ariz., Aug. 6, 1998 -- Dr. Ronald A. Madler, an associate professor of aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott campus, is a 1998 recipient of the Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award.
Madler is among 20 engineering educators selected by The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) to receive this prestigious award. All recipients are engineering educators with demonstrated excellence in curriculum development and research.
Madler will receive his award in Anaheim, Calif., during the third World Aviation Congress, cosponsored by SAE and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), which will take place September 28-30. At the congress, Madler and other Teetor Award recipients will have the opportunity to exchange views and technical information with practicing engineers in industry.
At Embry-Riddle since 1994, Madler has taught courses such as Introduction to Astronautics, Structures I, Space Environment, Preliminary Spacecraft Design, Statics, Dynamics, and Space Mechanics. Professor Madler's other distinctions include the NASA Outstanding Contribution Award in 1994 and 1995, a Boettcher Foundation Scholarship, an Apprentice Faculty Grant Award from the American Society for Engineering Education, and a NASA Graduate Research Fellowship. Madler holds a Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. in aerospace engineering sciences from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
