Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Honors Dr. Stephen Kahne
Prescott, Ariz., Jan. 9, 1998 -- Dr. Stephen Kahne of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has been named a distinguished lecturer by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Control Systems Society.
Kahne is a professor of electrical engineering at Embry-Riddle's Prescott campus, where he previously served as chancellor.
This honor places Kahne on an international list of 18 senior control systems specialists available for special lecture assignments at IEEE meetings and conferences throughout the world. Kahne's lecture is titled "Engineering Challenges in Air Traffic Control." He is known for his work in air traffic control and systems engineering.
Kahne has served as president of the IEEE Control Systems Society, vice president of IEEE Technical Activities, president of the International Federation of Automatic Control, and editor of IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control.
Kahne has received many international honors, including fellow of IEEE, fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science, and distinguished member of the IEEE Control Systems Society.
IEEE is the world's largest technical professional society. The organization promotes the development and application of electrotechnology and allied sciences.
