President of Boeing Defense and Space Group to Speak at Embry-Riddle Graduation
Prescott, Ariz., April 18, 1997 -- One hundred seventy-four
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students will take
part in the spring graduation ceremony at the Athletic Field
Saturday, April 26, 1997. The ceremony will begin at 10:00
a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.
Boeing Defense and Space Group President Alan Mulally will be the commencement speaker. Mr. Mulally was responsible for managing all aspects of the Boeing 777, a 375- to 400-passenger wide-body twin-jet. In 1996 he was named engineer of the year by Design News for drawing upon his "deep enthusiasm for airplanes to propel the biggest product design effort of this decade -- the Boeing 777." Embry-Riddle Chancellor Stephen Kahne will award Mr. Mulally an honorary doctorate in aerospace engineering.
