External Scholarships

External or private scholarships are offered by organizations outside of the University. Deadline dates vary and applications may be requested by writing to the addresses listed or calling the phone numbers listed. You will need to contact the sponsoring organization directly. We do not carry an inventory of scholarship applications at the Financial Aid Office. This is a partial listing of scholarships available online at www.finaid.org.

AIRCRAFT ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (AEAEF)

Hocker, Independence MO 64055; (816) 373-6565 - The AEAEF offers twenty seven scholarships totaling over $66,000 to graduating high school seniors and enrolled college students, seeking degrees in the field of aviation maintenance, avionics, and aircraft repair. AIR FORCE AID SOCIETY'S EDUCATION GRANT

The Air Force Aid Society provides $1,500 grants to dependent children of active, retired, or deceased members of the Air Force Aid Society. AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Air Line Pilots Association offers a four-year renewable $3,000 scholarship to students who are children of long-term disabled, medically retired or deceased ALPA members. Although the program envisions selection of a student enrolling as a college freshman, eligible individuals who are already enrolled in college may also apply.  The student must be enrolled in a program of studies principally creditable toward a baccalaureate degree. AIRPORTS COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL-NORTH AMERICA (ACI-NA) COMMISSIONERS ROUNDTABLE SCHOLARSHIP

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF AIRPORT EXECUTIVES (AAAE)

AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS (AICPA)/ACCOUNTEMPTS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

AOPA AIR SAFETY FOUNDATION
421 Aviation Way, Frederick, MD 21701; (301) 695-2000. The Air Safety foundation sponsors one $1,000 scholarship for both the McAlester Memorial and Donald Burnside Memorial Scholarships. Students must have junior or senior standing at the time of application, a 3.25 GPA, and be enrolled in a non-engineering degree program. AVAILL SCHOLARSHIPS

AVIATION DISTRIBUTORS & MANUFACTURERS ASSOC. (ADMA) SCHOLARSHIPS

ADMA offers two $1,000 scholarships to students of the professional pilot program enrolled in either an aviation maintenance or aviation management program. Applicants must be a third- or fourth-year student in their program, and selections are based on scholastic achievement, and the content of their application package. CAREERS IN AVIATION - NATIONAL BLACK COALITION OF FEDERAL AVIATION EMPLOYEES (NBCFAE)

Special consideration for students majoring in an aviation-related program with a grade point average 3.00 and above. CIVIL AIR PATROL SCHOLARSHIP (CAP)
Offers several scholarships to its members who have achieved the Billy Mitchell award, or senior rating in Level II of the training program. Amounts range from $750 to $1,500; the number of awards varies based on funding. Applications are available through squadron commanders.

DATATEL SCHOLARS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
4375 Fair Lakes Court. Fairfax, VA 22033; (703) 968-9000. The Datatel Scholars Foundation offers four scholarship opportunities to both full-time and part-time (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester) undergraduate and graduate students. A personal statement essay is required. The scholarship amounts range from $1000 to $2400. The applications must be submitted online. EAA VINTAGE AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION, CHAPTER 15 AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP

ERNIE AYER AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP

EUGENE KROPF SCHOLARSHIP

FLORIDA SPACEPORT CHAPTER, THE NINETY NINES INC.

GEORGE GRIER KIRKPATRICK, JR. SCHOLARS PROGRAM

JOHN GYLES EDUCATION AWARDS

HISPANIC COLLEGE FUND, INC.

HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND

INTERNATIONAL AIR CARGO ASSOCIATION (TIACA)

INTERNATIONAL AVIATION WOMENS ASSOCIATION (IAWA)

LINDBERGH-LYCOMING GRANT
The Lindbergh Foundation is accepting applications for the Lindbergh-Lycoming grant.  This program is open to anyone conducting an aviation/aerospace research project that will improve the quality of life by balancing technological advancements with the preservation of our environment.  The deadline for application is November 1st.  The winner will be notified in April, with funding in July.  Research grants may not be used for tuition.  For complete details on the Lindbergh Grants program, descriptions of funded research grant projects, Frequently Asked Questions, and a downloadable Lindbergh-Lycoming Grant application, please visit their web site at www.lindberghfoundation.org and click on the "Grants Program" link.

MAJOR GENERAL JAMES URSANO SCHOLARSHIP FUND, ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF

NATIONAL SPACE CLUB DR. ROBERT H. GODDARD SCHOLARSHIP
2000 L Street NW, Suite 710, Washington, DC 20036-4907. The National Space Club sponsors a $10,000 award to a student who is a junior enrolled in an aerospace program. Must be a U.S. citizen. There is no formal application form, but interested students must apply in writing and provide certain information in their letter. Factors considered are official transcript, letters of recommendation from faculty, accomplishments demonstrating personal qualities of creativity and leadership, scholastic plans for future participation in aerospace sciences and technology, proven past research and participation in space-related science and engineering activities, and financial need is considered.

NORTHEAST CHAPTER, AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF AIRPORT EXECUTIVES (AAAE), WILFRED M. POS, JR. SCHOLARSHIP

PHI CHI THETA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN

The foundation sponsors one to three $1,000 scholarships for full-time graduate female students pursuing a business administration degree who have completed at least one semester of study. PROFESSIONAL AVIATION MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION (PAMA)
