External or private scholarships are offered by organizations outside of the University. Deadline dates vary and applications may be requested by writing to the addresses listed or calling the phone numbers listed. You will need to contact the sponsoring organization directly. We do not carry an inventory of scholarship applications at the Financial Aid Office. This is a partial listing of scholarships available online at www.finaid.org.

AIRCRAFT ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (AEAEF)

AIR FORCE AID SOCIETY'S EDUCATION GRANT

The Air Force Aid Society provides $1,500 grants to dependent children of active, retired, or deceased members of the Air Force Aid Society. AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Air Line Pilots Association offers a four-year renewable $3,000 scholarship to students who are children of long-term disabled, medically retired or deceased ALPA members. Although the program envisions selection of a student enrolling as a college freshman, eligible individuals who are already enrolled in college may also apply.  The student must be enrolled in a program of studies principally creditable toward a baccalaureate degree. FREDERICK W. AND GRACE P. BRECHT SCHOLARSHIP

THE PINKY AND JOE BRIER FOUNDATION
The Brier Foundation provides 6 to 10 scholarships in varying amounts up to $5,000 to female students.  Eligible applicants include female students with a CGPA of 3.25 and above, who are currently enrolled in or officially accepted into a degree or certified program in Aviation, Astronautics, Aeronautics, Commercial Pilot, Commercial Helicopter Pilot, Bridge Officer, Navigation, Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering, Merchant Marine License, or Merchant Mariners Document.  At the time of application the applicant must be one of the following:  female, junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student, licensed private pilot, licensed private helicopter pilot, have qualifying sea service or plan to test for a Merchant Marine License or Merchant Mariners Document.  Application, transcripts or equivalent, essay and letters of recommendation are required.  Contact:  Sandy Pinckert, (866) 746-5913, email:  pinkyflies@thebrierfoundation.org


CAREERS IN AVIATION - NATIONAL BLACK COALITION OF FEDERAL AVIATION EMPLOYEES (NBCFAE)

Special consideration for students majoring in an aviation-related program with a grade point average 3.00 and above. CIVIL AIR PATROL SCHOLARSHIP (CAP)
Offers several scholarships to its members who have achieved the Billy Mitchell award, or senior rating in Level II of the training program. Amounts range from $750 to $1,500; the number of awards varies based on funding. Applications are available through squadron commanders.


DATATEL SCHOLARS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Datatel Scholars Foundation offers four scholarship opportunities to both full-time and part-time (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester) undergraduate and graduate students. A personal statement essay is required. The scholarship amounts range from $1000 to $2400. The applications must be submitted online. ERNIE AYER AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP

EUGENE KROPF SCHOLARSHIP

GEORGE GRIER KIRKPATRICK, JR. SCHOLARS PROGRAM

INTERNATIONAL AIR CARGO ASSOCIATION (TIACA)

INTERNATIONAL AVIATION WOMENS ASSOCIATION (IAWA)

LINDBERGH-LYCOMING GRANT

NATIONAL SPACE CLUB DR. ROBERT H. GODDARD SCHOLARSHIP

There is no formal application form, but interested students must apply in writing and provide certain information in their letter. Factors considered are official transcript, letters of recommendation from faculty, accomplishments demonstrating personal qualities of creativity and leadership, scholastic plans for future participation in aerospace sciences and technology, proven past research and participation in space-related science and engineering activities, and financial need is considered.

SAM WALTON COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
