How To Apply for a Federal Stafford FELP Loan

If you have received an award letter indicating the amount of Federal Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Stafford loan awarded, please log onto Blackboard to begin the application process. Once you've logged on, click the Online Services tab. Locate the ERAU Student Services module.

Click on the Apply for Federal Stafford Loan link. From here you will be directed to our loan processor's (Nelnet) Web site for students called Nterchange. You will be prompted to create an account. This login and password will allow you to view the status of your loan(s) through the life of the loan(s).

Note that all first-year, first-time Federal Stafford borrowers must meet the Department of Education's entrance counseling requirements prior to receiving Federal Stafford loan funds. If necessary, you'll be able to complete the Entrance Interview before completing your electronic Master Promissory Note at the Nterchange Web site.

You only have to complete a FFELP Master Promissory Note one time while enrolled at Embry-Riddle.

How to Apply for the Federal Parent and Graduate PLUS Loan

If parents of a dependent student want to apply for a Federal PLUS loan or or graduate students would like to apply for the PLUS loan:

The following link will take you to our loan processor's (Nelnet) Web site called Nterchange where a parent can complete the required credit check and electronic Master Promissory Note for the Federal PLUS loan: Nterchange

If you do not yet have an Nterchange account, you will be prompted to create an account. While at this site you will be prompted to complete the Federal PLUS credit check and then, if eligible, the electronic Master Promissory Note.

Once the electronic Master Promissory Note is completed, Nelnet will notify the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Office will then process your loan application.
