Employer survey: Embry-Riddle graduates are
well-prepared for careers

Highlights from our most recent employer survey are posted below. They convey how favorably employers view Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduates.

  • *94% of employers said that the education of the ERAU graduate met their companys needs.
  • *97% of employers agreed that the graduate was a valuable employee in their company.
  • *87% of employers said that the graduate was a good candidate for promotion.

Employers were asked to rate the competence of Embry-Riddle graduates versus graduates from other institutions in sixteen skills that employers desire in their employees. Embry-Riddle graduates scored significantly higher on each one. The following represents the percentage of those responding "excellent" or "very good" when rating competence in desired skills:

Summary of Employer Comments

At the end of the survey, employers have the opportunity to provide comments. In the current survey, 71 percent chose to comment. Analyses of these comments show three main strengths possessed by Embry-Riddle graduates: a positive attitude (the strength mentioned most frequently), aviation knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

According to the supervisors, Embry-Riddle graduates have an "exceptional attitude" that "helps them learn new skills and job-related knowledge quickly."

Employers value Embry-Riddle's program dedicated to aviation which helps in many areas of employment including "safety awareness."

They also appreciate the excellent "problem-solving skills" of Embry-Riddle graduates who "have a keen ability to get to the heart of a problem and address it with efficiency," and to "utilize logic and analytical reasoning."
