Chris Bertram

Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation
Chris Bertram is a senior professional staff member with the Senate Committee
on Commerce, Science and Transportation. In that capacity, he is responsible
for all aviation and aviation security issues considered by the Committee.
Prior to joining the Commerce Committee, he was the Assistant Administrator for
Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer for the Federal Aviation Administration. In
that capacity, he was the principal advisor to the Administrator on the agency's
budget, performance management, and financial management.
Mr. Bertram has served as a senior aide with Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
of the U.S. House of Representatives. In that position he was responsible
for the development of the financial and budgetary provisions of the Aviation Investment
and Reform Act for the 21 st Century (AIR 21). During his time with the Committee
he was also responsible for the drafting of surface transportation infrastructure
funding and trucking safety legislation.
Mr. Bertram has also served in various capacities with the White House Office
of Management and Budget and in the United States Department of Transportation.
He has a masters degree from Harvard University and a bachelors degree from Trinity
University in San Antonio, Texas.
