The Career Services Web site offers students and alumni a virtual library of job search aids including interview tips; an alumni network which enables students to contact alumni throughout the United States and abroad to learn more about their careers/employers; sample résumés and cover letters; company profiles and employment hotlines; cooperative education opportunities; current job listings; and a Web-based résumé referral service.

Career Fairs are hosted annually at the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses each fall. Throughout each year, dozens of companies visit the campuses to recruit students and to provide information on the industry. On-campus interviews are also scheduled year-round.

Cooperative Education/Internship Program
Cooperative education provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience while earning college credit, to learn about their chosen field, and to establish contacts in the industry.

The Co-op/Internship program provides students with practical experience which reinforces the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom. The program aids in bridging the gap between student life and the world of work. This program combines students' academic and career interests with work experience in business, industry, government, or service organizations.

Key elements of the Co-op/Internship program experience are:

  • Supervision and evaluation of performance by professionals in a chosen career field.

  • Professional level work assignments in areas related to the student's academic major.

  • Completion of learning objectives designed to relate academic studies to the work world.

Why Co-op?

The cooperative education experience offers many benefits to students:

  • It provides work experience which is relevant to academic major and career goals

  • It helps to define career goals so that more realistic job choices can be made.

  • It establishes valuable professional contacts and broadens job opportunities after graduation.

  • It may provide income to help with college expenses.

  • It increases self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

  • It enhances motivation and classroom participation by relating academics to the work world.

  • It offers the potential to earn one college credit for every 100 hours worked, to a maximum of six credit hours per semester for undergraduate students. Graduate students can earn one credit hour for each 200 hours worked. Each individual department chair/designee is responsible for determining the suitability of potential co-ops. Unless otherwise approved through the department, credit is awarded as open electives. In some instances, technical or specified credit can be earned for certain work experiences. Any substitutions must be approved prior to the start of the qualifying co-op.
