Embry-Riddle recognizes that the people who work in aviation and aerospace regard education and professional development as top priorities because these fields are linked to advancing technology. In order to be able to respond quickly to changes in their environments, aviation and aerospace professionals actively seek opportunities to learn and grow.
Yet, navigating around obstacles such as irregular work schedules, frequent travel, job relocations, and family responsibilities often makes getting an education difficult. Few colleges or universities respond to the needs of adult learners with classes scheduled at times they can attend.
Over 130 Worldwide Campuses maintain the same degree curricula, academic policies, and academic standards that are used by all University campuses. Procedures may differ somewhat to accommodate variances in structure, organization, and location.
Students may transfer among Embry-Riddle's various campuses and integrate with the courses taken at a new campus location. The applicability of University and transfer courses may vary slightly in one or two degree programs due to specialized accreditation. Acceptance and application of Embry-Riddle courses by other institutions is in accordance with the policies of the individual institution.
The degree programs offered by the Worldwide Campuses can be seen here. The specific degree programs and courses offered at individual centers and through distance learning are based on the assessed needs of students and other local and regulatory factors. All Embry-Riddle degree programs and courses are not offered by the Worldwide.
To serve the unique needs of students who are members of the United States military services, Embry-Riddle is an active member in Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), a consortium of national higher education associations and more than 1,000 colleges and universities. The consortium operates in conjunction with the Department of Defense, the military services, and the educational institutions to help military personnel participate in voluntary educational opportunities and complete the requirements of the degree programs they choose. The University subscribes to SOC principles, criteria, and operating guidelines in the delivery of high-quality academic programs to military students.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University's Worldwide was recently granted membership in the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. This honorary is exclusively for continuing Education student who attain academic and residency requirements.
Worldwide classes are scheduled to accommodate the needs of adult students, most of whom participate on a part-time basis. The length and starting and ending dates of terms vary by location.
The Worldwide campuses extends throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii and Western Europe. The network spans 12 time zones, more than 37 states, and 7 European countries. The typical center is located at or near a concentration of aviation activities, either civilian or military, or both. In addition to students from the military services, most centers located on military installations are authorized to enroll other U.S. government employees, dependents, and local civilians. |
