The bachelor of science degree program requires 120 credit hours (associate's degree 60 hours) including aeronautical technology credit awarded for prior learning from qualifying professional aviation training and experience. Qualifying students may receive up to a maximum of 36 credit hours (Associate 18 hours) of aeronautical technology credit. All Bachelors degree students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours (associate's degree 15 hours) of course work with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in order to meet University residency requirements. Using each student's aviation specialty as the foundation, the curriculum adds required courses in communications, computer science, humanities, mathematics, and physical sciences to provide the essential, basic academic education found in every Embry-Riddle degree program. The remaining components in the curriculum feature opportunities for students to select courses that fit the career paths they have planned. Bachelors degree students must also complete a minimum of 39 credit hours of upper level course work.This program is designed especially and exclusively for aviation professionals who have training and experience within various aviation technical fields and are focused on a continuing aviation career. To be eligible for the program and to receive aeronautical technology credits, students must show evidence that they possess specialized aviation skills and knowledge. Required and elective courses will prepare the student for greater responsibilities by adding to the knowledge and skills already learned. Graduates are pilots, flight crewmembers, air traffic controllers and others in a wide variety of other aviation related occupations, who are prepared for positions of greater responsibility as supervisors and managers. The Bachelor of Science in Management of Technical Operations is a degree program consisting of 120 semester credit hours. The degree is designed for students who have earned or will earn before they can graduate, 15 semester hours of academic credit that indicate a technical operations specialty and build a management major around it so that graduates are prepared to bring a broad understanding of management and the application of specific skills of management to the technical area. The credits should be in an area that is related to the aviation/aerospace industry and from a regionally accredited institution, CLEP, DANTES, Excelsior College Examinations (ECE), military or industrial education programs recognized by ACE. |
