Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Orlando Campus Partners with Valencia Community College

Signing of Articulation Agreement

Orlando, Fla., January 19, 2007 -- The Orlando campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide has signed an articulation agreement with Valencia Community College (VCC) that will allow Valencia students with an associate of arts degree with the business administration pre-major (60 credits) to transfer into a bachelor of science degree in technical management or professional aeronautics at the Embry-Riddle Orlando campus.

The articulation agreement was signed at the VCC Downtown Campus on January 16th by VCC President Dr. Sanford “Sandy” Shugart, Embry-Riddle Worldwide Chancellor Martin A. Smith and Vice-Chancellor Dr. John Watret. Dr. Karen Borglum, VCC assistant vice president for curriculum and articulation, and Bobby Olszewski, director of academic support for Embry-Riddle Orlando, assisted in the effort and both encourage interested students to see their VCC advisor for more information.

"The Embry-Riddle Orlando campus is very excited about this new relationship with Valencia Community College. With more than 50,000 Valencia students in the greater Central Florida community, we are proud to help VCC students continue their undergraduate education with us in the technical management and professional aeronautics disciplines. We sincerely appreciate the leadership of Dr. Shugart and Dr. Borglum in bringing this important relationship to fruition,” said Olszewski.

Valencia is ranked second among the nation’s colleges and universities in the number of associate’s degrees awarded. The associate of arts degree in business administration pre-major is the second most popular associate’s degree pre-major at the community college.
